Five Filmmakers. Five Films. Five Mentors. Five $50,000 Prizes.

It’s been over six months since the COVID-19 pandemic halted life as we know it in the United States.
It’s been art that has brought us together and fueled our healing.

Whether it’s families dancing on TikTok, late night talk show hosts taping their shows from their living rooms, or video tributes to the heroic first responders, storytelling has been the medicine our souls need. Wayfarer Studios and Wayfarer Entertainment endeavor to take storytelling to greater heights through the Six Feet Apart Experiment.
The Six Feet Apart Experiment is a groundbreaking experimental filmmaking competition, seeking submissions from all filmmakers—as individuals or in teams—for scripted and experiential narrative films. While the projects can be genre agnostic, they must capture the spirit of Wayfarer to create radically sincere content that celebrates and elevates the human spirit. The Six Feet Apart Experiment challenges filmmakers and storytellers by pushing them to step outside the box, look past social isolation, and use these current circumstances to fuel their creativity.

The Winners will have the opportunity to receive $50,000 towards production—
$25,000 in production financing from Wayfarer Studios to complete their director’s cut of the film and $25,000 in in-kind post production services.

Additionally, winners will be paired with a seasoned filmmaker who will provide mentorship throughout the project’s development, production, and post production.
